I really bloody hate moving to new digs. It’s always a hassle getting all your stuff just right.

Anyway, I’ve finally got the WordPress template looking as close to the old MT template as I can. There are still a few little tweaks I will try, to improve the look even more but for the most part it is done.

The thing I was fearing most went even better than I could’ve hoped; importing the entries from the movabletype blog took about 2 minutes and less hassle than you might imagine. Very happy about that. Especially considering I was dreading having to do a manual edit for each and every post. Sure, they could probably do with some tweaking but that might happen at some point in the future–say, when Dubya gives away all his money and becomes a monk in the Rocky mountains.

For anyone who might’ve visited over the last few hours, sorry for any hassles or freak-outs. :)

Excellent. I can’t remember how many times I’ve shouted “Yes! Yes! Yes!” while reading one of your recent commentaries and fervantly wished for a comments feature so I could also write:

    Yes! Yes! Yes!

    I feel better already.

Same here. Very happy to see this, and the new layout is very pleasing.

I know it was a lot of work, jimi, but it looks GREAT. I’m sure it is, but I’m also hoping that WordPress is as easy to run as it is good looking.

Just great, and looking forward to more great posts from David and you both.

    It’s very handsome.
Small problem with leaving a comment (as I did on a more recent post) –
I’m having to insert returns to keep the text from running beyond the border
of the comment box. Any way to fix that?
    Otherwise. Cheers!

Marshall … glad we could oblige. WordPress comes with a plugin designed to prevent spambots posting comments, and so far it seems to be working, so fingers crossed.

Keith, DH, and grishaxx … thanks for the feedback. Nice to know my eye/taste isn’t completely crap. :)

grishaxx … I was going to suggest you switch from IE to Firefox but then I discovered Firefox is actually worse than IE. You could try switching to Opera (seeing as how it is now free) because it has no problem with the comment textarea but I will look into it and see what I can do about fixing the issue. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though.
