Fait Diver: Let’s Hear It For Eddie Cantor!

For as everyone knows it’s even lonelier at the Bottom.

“WASHINGTON – Michael Steele was elected Republican National Committee chairman on Friday, defeating the incumbent party chief and three other challengers over six rounds of voting to become the first black to lead the GOP. The former Maryland lieutenant governor takes over a beleaguered GOP as Republicans seek to rebound from back-to-back defeats in national elections that gave Democrats control of Congress and the White House.
“As a little boy growing up in this town, this is awesome,” said Steele, the most moderate candidate in the field and considered an outsider because he’s not a committee member.
In a brief acceptance speech, the new GOP chairman struck a tone of inclusiveness.
“We’re going to say to friend and foe alike: We want you to be a part of us, we want you to with be with us, and for those who wish to obstruct, get ready to get knocked over,” Steele said.
He won 91 votes out of a possible 168 in the sixth round. A simple majority of 85 was needed, but it took six rounds for Steele to win.”

    Real classy, David.

Look, I like your work for the most part, but when it comes to your blog posts and your comments on towleroad, you go way over the top. Like your comment on towle about Obama being able to get anything he wants through. That really isn’t true because of the filibuster. I know you know that political fact, but you let your emotions get the best of you.

Anyway, I hope someday you realize that not all republicans are the enemy. We’re not all bad people, especially those of us who are part of the younger generation of republicans.

    Peace and best wishes.

My “emotions”? Oh I’m just a Big Ol’ Woman ain’t I! Darling I’m not about to play Joan Walsh to your Dick Armey.

The “threat” of filibuster is a paper tiger, and everyone in Washington D.C. knows it. The “Mainstream” media knows it too, but as its run by Republican shills it must stick to the thoroughly manufactured narrative of “two sides” in “conflict.” Now that the Democratic party has decisively won — and the next Republican convention is likely to be held in an old VFW hall in Wasilla — the new meme is “Bipartisanship.” What that means is that the Democrats are supposed to throw all their programs away and do what Republicans tell them to do.

    AS IF!

And no, not all Republicans are Evil.

    They’re simply psychotic.

Sorry GayRepub, but all Republicans ARE the enemy. Haven’t you been paying any fucking attention these past years? Haven’t you seen what the Republicans have done to the country, the economy, the Constitution, the world, the environment? Did you just wake up from a fucking coma, GR? Not to mention the ongoing hate of all things homosexual, GayRepublican.

The people running the Republican party oare evil, GR. And anyone enabling and supporting them are no less evil and are in fact the enemy of every person with any integrity.
