Surely the facts are in ceaseless dispute.

“Why did the legitimate Press not expose Ken Mehlman’s hypocrisy of publically advocating against gay rights issues when he worked for President George Bush and/or was Chairman of the RNC — all while being gay? You think many in the Press with all of its constitutional protections enabling it to uncover things didn’t know Mehlman was gay, did the press protect Mehlman or what? If the press protected Mehlman, why? The press had no qualms about exposing President Clinton after he said publicly he didn’t have sex with that woman. Given Melhman’s former jobs, certainly his public statements on gay rights/issues affected public policy as well as the political positions of Bush and the Republican party. Now he admits he was gay at the time and continues to be gay with scant coverage by the press. Why the Press double standard?”

Howard Kurtz writes:
“Your premise, that the press protected Ken Mehlman, is wrong. As a journalist, how do you prove someone who doesn’t acknowledge it is gay? In fact, Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder, who broke the story with Mehlman’s cooperation, told me he tried to verify that Mehlman was gay back in the RNC/Bush campaign days but could not come up with the evidence.
Let me remind you that the world learned about Monica Lewinsky because Clinton was under investigation by a special prosecutor. So the two situations aren’t remotely comparable”

You see how it works boys and girls? You can’t prove someone is gay unless they acknowledge that fact in excruciatingly explicit form. By such standards outside of Ellen Degeneres, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer and Neil Patrick Harris there are very few gays.

“But,” you say, “What about Marcel Proust, Andre Gide, Gertrude Stein, Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward, Lorenz Hart, Stephen Sondheim, Roland Barthes, Frank O’Hara, Allen Ginsberg, Henry James, Jack Smith, Irving Rosenthal, Edward Albee, Tennessee Williams, Samuel R. Delany, Gus Van Sant, Todd Haynes, Christopher Isherwood, John Rechy, Larry Kramer, Somerset Maugham, Joe Orton, Terence Rattigan, George Cukor, Terence Davies, Andy Warhol, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Patrice Chereau, Roy Cohn, J. Edna Hoover, Kevn Spacey, Mitch McConnell, Patrick McHenry, Larry Craig (I could go on and on and on and on) ? Well according to Howie’s very strict standards they’re not gay because that hasn’t been proven by a congressional investigation producing the required blue cum-stained dress from the GAP.

Come to think of it, how do we know that Howard Kurtz is straight? He’s supposed to be married to a high-ranking Republican operative named Sheri Annis, but he never speaks of her — or her work — so there’s no telling what that means. For all we know Howie could be carrying on with “Jeff Gannon.”

Shouldn’t there be an investigation to discover The Truth?
