First of all props to David Gregory for acting like an actual reporter for perhaps the very first time in his career. He’s actually asking pertinent questions — though, to no one’s surprise, not getting any answers.
Sadly many people who should know better, including usually razor-sharp Andy Towle have failed to note an important point.
Bachmann also told Gregory that she would have no problem inviting an openly LGBT person into her cabinet: “I would look, first of all, will they uphold the Constitution of the United States? And, number two, are they competent to do what they need to do? And are they the best at who they are? That’s my criteria, nothing more.”
And that means she would never invite an openly gay person into her cabinet. You see in Bachmannworld , the Constitution was created by Miss God Herself and handed down to our “Founding Fathers” as Holy Writ — because this is a “Christian Nation” doncha know.
The openly gay, being “of Satan,” are therefore Unconstituttional.
Closet cases, I’m sure, would be perfectly acceptable.
Gregory ended the segment by wondering, since Bachmann believes marriage should only be between a man and a woman, whether same-sex parents and their children qualify as a “family.” She tried to avoid answering by saying, “All these kinds of questions aren’t about what people are concerned about right now.”
Well actually we are, but that’s not what Michele is concerned about. She keeps saying “I am running for President of the United States,” just like —
Take it away Moira!
